(NASDAQ: BWEB), a leading provider of software designed to provide unplugged access to existing enterprise web applications, announced today that a leading government consulting and integration firm will mobilize their Oracle ePerformance application using BackWeb’s award-winning Offline Access Server™ (OAS). Utilizing the OAS technology, the Customer will ensure their mobile employees are armed with the ability to access, review and edit performance reviews and other performance data while disconnected from the network. The Customer’s mobile employees, who are frequently working in secure onsite client environments with no Internet access, are currently unable to work on performance reviews while disconnected from the network. The Customer chose BackWeb as the only Oracle-certified solution for offline-enabling the ePerformance application. The BackWeb® solution will help the Customer complete the review cycle more quickly, even for new employees whose reviews are conducted more frequently than the standard review cycle. Additionally, the added convenience will give people the ability to work on performance reviews during previously unproductive downtime, which is expected to help them achieve a better work-life balance and increase adoption of the ePerformance application. Previous solutions based on emailing performance reviews written in Microsoft Office documents offered some convenience, but lacked central coordination and control of the workflow.
