BACKWEB AND ADJOINED CONSULTING ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP TO OPTIMIZE PHARMACEUTICAL FIELD FORCE OPERATIONS

Anytime, Anywhere Access Improves Field Force Productivity and Enhances Administrative Efficiencies

SAN JOSE, Calif., December 5, 2005 – BackWeb Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: BWEB), a leading provider of software designed to mobilize web applications, announced today its strategic partnership with Adjoined Consulting, an industry-focused full-service management consulting, technology, and outsourcing firm. Adjoined will implement offline and mobile web solutions with a focus on Pharmaceutical field force operations. Adjoined and BackWeb will work to deliver solutions that increase the productivity of mobile professionals within the Pharmaceutical industry by providing them with access to critical information anywhere, anytime. Today’s announcement marks the formal launch of the successful partnership which began earlier this year. To date, BackWeb and Adjoined have collaborated on five engagements, including work for the Biopharmaceutical group within Johnson & Johnson.

Pharmaceutical field forces currently endure significant costs and lost productivity, as 30 percent or more of field time is consumed by administrative tasks and downtime while in the field. To address this issue, Adjoined has deployed BackWeb’s leading offline web technology which enables customers to identify and capture the maximum business value from 24/7 access to critical web based information, regardless of the availability of wireless coverage – further reducing the need to be connected to a network to complete administrative tasks and maximizing productivity of downtime. In addition, utilizing the BackWeb solution, Adjoined can help customers eliminate printing and distribution costs by making needed materials available via a web-based browser. The partnership provides a new, substantially improved model for pharmaceutical companies to enhance field force effectiveness.

"Mobile applications continue to be a critical strategic component of a company's IT portfolio," said Alan Crowther, Managing Officer of Adjoined Consulting’s Enterprise Application practice. "BackWeb’s mobile application solutions leverage sophisticated technology to deliver a unique field force operations solution that optimizes intermittent, or no bandwidth environments, and delivers key applications to field representatives, therefore maximizing the productivity of mobile workforces.

"The tandem of Adjoined’s expert consultants and the depth of BackWeb’s technology delivers a dynamic combination to the market that provides a high and immediate return on investment," added Crowther. "The BackWeb model allows applications to be extended to the mobile environment – eliminating the need to recode them – for anytime, anywhere access and better leveraging of existing or legacy systems."

"We are excited to be working with Adjoined to build a bold field force offering," said Pete Szalay, Vice President Sales and Marketing at BackWeb. "By formally announcing the combination of our products and Adjoined’s deep industry expertise and technological capabilities, we’re highlighting an exclusive solution approach that delivers an unprecedented return on our clients’ mobile application investment."
