BackWeb Technologies Named Silicon Valley's Third Fastest Growing Technology Company in Deloitte & Touche's Fast 50 ProgramSan Jose, CA— September 20, 2001- BackWeb Technologies (Nasdaq: BWEB), the leading provider of ProactivePortal™ technologies for the enterprise, has been named to Deloitte & Touche's prestigious "Technology Fast 50" Program for the Silicon Valley, a ranking of 50 of the fastest-growing technology companies in the area. BackWeb was ranked number three within the Top 50. Rankings are based on the percentage of growth in revenues for the five-year period from 1996-2000. Winners of the 22 regional Fast 50 programs in the United States and Canada are automatically entered in the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks North America's top 500 fastest growing technology companies.
