"The Internet has created a great opportunity for companies that want to significantly improve their relationships with customers and partners," said Eli Barkat, Chairman and CEO of BackWeb Technologies. "With the BackWeb Service Accelerator, companies can now transition their service organizations from passive and reactive, to proactive and highly effective. BackWeb gives them the power to proactively deploy new service and support solutions instead of passively waiting to react. Ultimately, this will translate into n invaluable competitive advantage." To date, industry-leading Fortune 1,000 companies, such as Hewlett-Packard, Compaq and SAP, have used BackWeb's core technology to build their own Priority Internet communications service applications. Now, BackWeb is offering an out-of-the-box service and support solution that is reliable, scalable, secure and highly effective in helping companies meet their business needs. "To build marketshare in today's competitive environment, companies must develop mindshare by providing superior customer service and support," said Allen Bonde, director of advisory services at The Extraprise Group. "BackWeb's Service Accelerator proactively delivers the time-sensitive, mission-critical information required to ensure the best customer satisfaction and retention." The BackWeb Service Accelerator allows proactive, efficient delivery of any size or type of information to users both inside and outside the organization. In addition, its patented Polite Agent™ technology enables companies to take advantage of unused network capacity to automatically deliver information in the background. This avoids interruptions of other applications and activities, such as accessing e-mail and surfing the Web. The BackWeb Service Accelerator is comprised of three modules: the Automated Encyclopedia, Priority Publishing and Rapid Survey. BackWeb Automated Encyclopedia BackWeb Priority Publishing BackWeb Rapid Survey The Rapid Survey module takes advantage of BackWeb's Flash notifications so companies can capture the user's attention for higher response rates. Utilizing BackWeb's Polite Upstream™, the Rapid Survey module enables two-way publishing or user interaction. With surveys, a publisher sends out a survey message, then users send back responses from which the BackWeb Rapid Survey module generates a report. In the report, survey results are aggregated, so there is no manual tallying of data. Users who have access to view the survey results can see the aggregate data, the raw data by each user and also know who actually received the survey and who responded. For participants, Rapid Survey eliminates the time- and energy-consuming process associated with traditional e-mail and online surveys.
