BackWeb Announces Key Executive AppointmentTodd Johnson, former Senior Vice President of SGI, joins BackWeb as Vice President of Worldwide MarketingSAN JOSE, California — August 9, 1999 — BackWeb® Technologies (Nasdaq: BWEB), a leading provider of Priority Internet communication software for the extended enterprise, today announced the recent appointment of Todd Johnson, formerly of SGI, to the position of Vice President, Worldwide Marketing. As Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Johnson brings more than 17 years marketing experience to BackWeb Technologies. Prior to joining the Company, he was Senior Vice President, Server Solutions at SGI. He was responsible for the company's industry, enterprise software solutions, server, supercomputer and operating systems marketing. Prior to that he was responsible for the company's worldwide Marketing & Communications and Industry & Applications Marketing organizations. He also led the marketing efforts for the Silicon Graphics O2 visual workstation. Before joining SGI, Johnson spent seven years at Hewlett-Packard in a number of key marketing and operations positions.
