BackWeb Technologies Announces Product Partnership with Baan Company

BackWeb Technologies' Internet communication infrastructure and BackWeb Sales Accelerator software re-branded and integrated into Baan Company's new Front Office application

SAN JOSE , Calif. - June 10, 1999 - BackWeb® Technologies (Nasdaq: BWEB), a leading provider of Priority Internet communication infrastructure and applications software for the extended enterprise, today announced a product partnership with Baan Company N.V. (ASE: BAAN; NASDAQ: BAANF), a global provider of business software and a leading provider of Front Office applications. As part of the agreement, Baan Company has re-branded and integrated BackWeb's Priority Internet communication infrastructure and the BackWeb Sales Accelerator application into its customer management product line. The Baan Company product, named BaanKnowledgeManager™, offers a marketing encyclopedia application with real-time desktop information retrieval and delivery, and is a robust addition to the BaanFrontOffice application suite.
