BackWeb Technologies Rounds Out Management TeamSAN JOSE, California. (May 20, 1997) - BackWeb Technologies, a leading provider of Internet push/pull solutions, today announced that it has made several key additions to its management team worldwide. * Carolyn Aver, formerly of Parc Place-Digitalk, is named Chief Financial Officer The CFO and CTO positions were formerly held by personnel on loan from BRM Technologies, the company that founded BackWeb, Check Point Software Technologies and MediaPath. The appointment of a sales manager in Germany marks the start of BackWeb's operations in Europe. Ringard reports to Marc Kawam, Managing Director for European operations, which are headquartered in Amsterdam. Carolyn Aver, Chief Financial Officer Aver is a certified public accountant and is a member of California Association of Certified Public Accounts. She is also a member of the Software Publishers Association CFO Committee, which is responsible for setting industry standards and driving public policy in the areas of finance and tax. Aver received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from California State University, Hayward. Hubert Delany, Chief Technology Officer Delany was previously vice president and chief technical officer at Onyx Sciences, a reseller for massively parallel processing systems, and was a consultant to Thinking Machines Corporation, developing and implementing visualization systems for finite-element analysis, molecular dynamics, seismic processing and medical imaging. Delany received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Leif Ringard, Country Manager/Germany Ringard was previously a key account manager for Microsoft in Germany, specializing in the aerospace and automotive industries. Ringard has also served as a support engineer for DataMedia Corporation in Munich and as a financial systems analyst at Motorola in Munich. Ringard served five years in the U.S. Air Force. He received a Bachelor of Science in business administration from San Diego State University.
