NICE, France - May 3, 1999 - Today at SAPPHIRE®'99 Nice, the SAP European user conference, SAP AG (NYSE ADR: SAP), the world's leading provider of enterprise business solutions, and BackWeb® Technologies, Inc., a leader in Internet communication infrastructure and applications for the extended enterprise, announced an agreement to leverage the BackWeb Internet communications platform throughout the mySAP.com™ offering. mySAP.com is the Internet business strategy that creates collaborative markets and facilitates dynamic business relationships.

"BackWeb's leading Internet communication infrastructure enables the priority delivery of time-sensitive, business critical information to the virtual enterprise or a selected portal," said Peter Zencke, member of the board of directors, SAP AG.
