BackWeb Names New Managing Director for European BusinessSan Jose, Calif. (April 7, 1998) -- BackWeb Technologies, the leader in enterprise push solutions, today announced Jean-François Guyomar as the company's new European Managing Director. The addition of Guyomar to BackWeb's European management team marks the company's increased focus on its European business. Guyomar will oversee BackWeb's entire European sales force and business partner network, which includes sales teams in Amsterdam, Germany, Sweden and The United Kingdom. "As BackWeb continues to grow we are strengthening our international presence. Jean-François' experience designing programs, leading teams and growing business in Europe for companies like Netscape is valuable to BackWeb," said Eli Barkat, BackWeb's Chief Executive Officer. "And, our European customers will benefit from Jean-François leadership, experience and determination. Prior to joining BackWeb, Guyomar was Netscape's European director of EMEA (European, Middle-East and Africa) channels where he was responsible for designing and implementing the company's channel programs in these three major regions, including developing the company's business model and setting-up its distribution channels. Guyomar also directed sales and marketing teams at companies including SunSoft.
