BackWeb Names New Managing Director for European Business

San Jose, Calif. (April 7, 1998) -- BackWeb Technologies, the leader in enterprise push solutions, today announced Jean-François Guyomar as the company's new European Managing Director. The addition of Guyomar to BackWeb's European management team marks the company's increased focus on its European business. Guyomar will oversee BackWeb's entire European sales force and business partner network, which includes sales teams in Amsterdam, Germany, Sweden and The United Kingdom.

Prior to joining BackWeb, Guyomar was Netscape's European director of EMEA (European, Middle-East and Africa) channels where he was responsible for designing and implementing the company's channel programs in these three major regions, including developing the company's business model and setting-up its distribution channels. Guyomar also directed sales and marketing teams at companies including SunSoft.

BackWeb currently has business development and channel partners in France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and The United Kingdom. Current European customers include Lufthansa, Volvo, Elle and Heineken.
