Yahoo! Unveils BackWeb Channel GuideSAN JOSE, Calif., (February 10, 1997) -- Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ: YHOO), the leading navigational guide to the Internet, and BackWeb Technologies, a leading provider of Internet push broadcasting software, today launched a beta version of the Yahoo! BackWeb Channel Guide. The new guide is available through the BackWeb service and on the Web at bwguide.yahoo.com/bwguide/start.html. The Yahoo! BackWeb Channel Guide is similar to a television guide for BackWeb channels, offering information about BackWeb programs for subscribers. Through Yahoo!'s Channel Guide, users will receive Yahoo! InfoFlashes, providing them with periodic "news" updates about new BackWeb channels, Yahoo!'s program picks and special broadcasts and programs. The beta version of Yahoo!'s Channel Guide lists the 40+ current BackWeb channels and describes the kinds of content that each delivers to subscribers. User can download the BackWeb client and subscribe to channels directly from the Channel Guide. Yahoo! will continue to add new channels to the Guide as they become available.
