


Eli BarkatMr. Eli Barkat is Chairman and Co-founder of BackWeb Technologies. An Internet visionary who has been instrumental in the rebirth of push technology, Mr. Barkat is also well known for his remarkable history as an Israeli paratrooper. His vision for the company was to create e-business solutions that incorporate the company's patented Polite® communications technology. With the emergence of the enterprise portal as an important tool for worldwide business, Mr. Barkat saw an increasing need for Global 1,000 companies to leverage the Internet to streamline core processes and manage critical change. He envisioned that BackWeb, the leader of proactive communications technologies, would become a de-facto critical communications standard. Mr. Barkat was also a founding partner in BRM Technologies Ltd., a leading Israeli incubator venture firm that has successfully founded several Internet infrastructure companies, including Check Point Software. As a partner and managing director at BRM, Mr. Barkat led the development of new business opportunities and was responsible for overseeing the company's research and business strategies. Before founding BRM, Mr. Barkat held key software development positions in Israel with Aurec and Daizix Technologies developing CAD applications for VLSI design. He served as a paratrooper in the Israel Defense Forces and attained a rank of Lieutenant. Mr. Barkat holds a Bachelor's degree in computer science and mathematics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Mr. Barkat is also Chairman of the Board of Directors for Kamoon Inc. Bill HeyeAs the Chief Executive Officer of BackWeb Technologies, Mr. Bill Heye brings over 15 years of sales, marketing and general management experience to BackWeb. Mr. Heye joined BackWeb Technologies in early 1996 as Director of Product Management. Before assuming his current position, he was the Vice President of Business Development and Products. Prior to joining BackWeb, Mr. Heye was with The Voyager Company and with IBM. At Voyager, a publisher of interactive media, he was Director of Marketing & Sales, responsible for launching the company's consumer CD-ROM products and developing sales and marketing programs. At IBM, he held various technical and sales positions in the field. Mr. Heye holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a BA in English from Texas A&M University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Uday BellaryMr. Bellary is the Executive Vice President and CFO of VL, Inc., a provider of "Voice over IP" technology and services and has held this position since September 2003. From February 2000 through September 2003, Mr. Bellary served as Senior Vice President, Finance & Administration and Chief Financial Officer of Metro Optix, Inc., a provider of optical networking equipment that was acquired in September 2003 by Xtera Communications. From September 1997 to October 1999, he served as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of MMC Networks, Inc., a publicly traded manufacturer of data networking processors that was acquired in October 2000 by Applied Micro Circuits Corporation. Between February 1997 and September 1997, Mr. Bellary was the Vice President, Finance & Administration and Chief Financial Officer of DTM Corporation, a manufacturer of computer-driven laser systems for industrial prototyping. Previously, he held various positions at Cirrus Logic, Inc., a semiconductor company, most recently as Director of Finance, and prior to that he served in various roles in the international finance, accounting and audit departments of Intel Corporation, a semiconductor company. Mr. Bellary also serves on the board of directors of Versant Corporation and several private company boards. Mr. Bellary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Accounting and Economics from Karnatak University, India and a DMA degree in Finance Management and Managerial Accounting from the University of Bombay, India. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the U.S. and a Chartered Accountant in India. Amir MakleffMr. Makleff is co-founder of BridgeWave Communications, a provider of gigabit wireless products and high frequency Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology, and has served as its President and Chief Executive Officer since January 1999. From November 1995 to November 1998, Mr. Makleff served as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Engineering of Netro Corporation, a fixed wireless networking infrastructure provider. From 1990 to 1995 Mr. Makleff served as General Manager and Vice President, Engineering of the Access Division of Telco System, a Telecom equipment supplier. Prior to that Mr. Makleff held senior engineering and marketing positions at Nortel, Amdhal, and Telestream Corporation, of which he was co-founder. Mr. Makleff served for 8 years in various senior research and development roles in the Israeli Ministry of Defense. Mr. Makleff holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. Kara AndersenMs. Andersen is Vice President of Operations and General Counsel at PneumRx, Inc., a medical device company. Prior to joining PneumRx in August 2004, Ms. Andersen was a partner at the law firm of Keker & Van Nest, LLP, where she had practiced since 1996. Ms. Andersen received an A.B. in Organizational Behavior and Management and French Literature from Brown University and a J.D. from the UCLA School of Law. Ms. Andersen also currently serves on the Boards of Directors of the Legal Aid Society-Employment Law Center and of ODC, a non-profit arts organization
